MACKINAC COUNTY, MI – Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist in Mackinac County.

According to the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office, the bicyclist was struck from behind by a pickup truck traveling northbound on Mackinac Trail north of Gorman Road in St. Ignace Township at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The collision knocked off the passenger side mirror of the pickup truck and caused the bicyclist to be thrown from their bike and into the ditch. The bicyclist is being treated at a local hospital.

The suspected vehicle is believed to be a 2007-2013 GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that is missing the passenger side mirror.
