Springfield, Nebraska (AP)-Earlier on Sunday, a 19-year-old man was hit and killed by a pickup truck near Springfield, Nebraska. investigating.

Sabie County Sheriff Captain Brian Richards said the man died at the scene of a car accident near 132th Street and Main Street. The accident happened at about 12:45 on Sunday morning.

Richards said that the 19-year-old man and two 18-year-old men were in a Ford pickup truck at the time, but the 19-year-old man got off the truck before the accident.

Investigators are trying to determine how the 19-year-old was hit by a pickup. His name was not immediately announced on Sunday.
