Obviously, the Supercross track designers have run out of ideas leading up to Foxborough. We’ve seen this layout several times already. No sand. No over-and-under. One set of whoops. And a lot of rhythm jumps.

The “Saturday at the Glen” motocross will return to Glen Helen’s upper track, formerly known as the REM track, on Saturday, April 23, as part of a four-week string of races on April 30, May 7 and May 14. Practice starts at 8:00 a.m. and it is only $30 to race if you pre-enter. To pre-enter CLICK HERE . For more info go to www.glenhelen.com

The Flux Primo is an electric-powered off-road bike with 85 horsepower and a swappable battery pack. The power is customizable via a smartphone connection, so you can enjoy the riding experience regardless of your skill level. It also features “active regenerative braking,” meaning you can charge the battery during rear braking. An interesting feature is  what Flux calls a “virtual clutch” that mimics how a traditional clutch works. The Flux Primo makes little or no noise so it can be ridden in areas where noise is a concern. The are no maintenance costs. However, the Flux Primo is still in the prototype stage of development in Slovenia—so don’t hold your breath.

In the future, when crash photos are talked about, this Mike Alessi crash photo will be mentioned with the term “impending doom.”

These fans should have been smart enough not to stand on top of the Log Cabin tunnel with the riders passing by just feet away from the plastic barrier. One misjudgement by a rider would have sent these fans tumbling ten feet straight down.

Josh Mosiman (171) shows how hard and fast the riders attacked the Log Cabin section.

In a battle between former Over-40 World Vet Champions, who are now in their 60s, Andy Jefferson, the 2002 Over-40 Vet Champ, got second behind 2000 Over-40 Vet Champ, Pete Murray, in the Over-60 Expert class.

Australians Dan Alamangos (shown), Cody Mackie and Andrew “Hoppo’ Hopkins represented their country.

Ryan Surratt (58) and Josh Mosiman (171) battled like this all day across four motos.

Josh Fout (155) won the 250 Expert class and was third in the Vet Experts.

In the foreground is the sand section leading to the Log Cabin, against the fence are the fans, behind them is the start straight and visible in the distance are the jumps on Pro Circuit’s hard-terrain Supercross test track. Behind the guy in the yellow hat is Pro Circuit’s soft-terrain Supercross test track.

Revco photographer Mark Riker and daughter Emily love being at the races.

Dennis Stapleton tucks out from behind a tree in the Pasha Over-30 125 Pro class on MXA’s KTM 150SX.

Justin Muscutt  jumps towards the Yamaha Bridge. He will land ten feet short of the bridge, go under it and then go straight up a big hill.

Dare DeMartile was part of the factory sponsored three-man Beta team on 300RXs. DeMartile was fourth, Carlen Gardner sixth and Bryson Gardner seventh in the Open Pro class.

Michelle Horton wore a special jersey honoring the late Tom White. Tom was responsible for the World Four-Stroke Championship, World Vet Championship, World Two-Stroke Championship, Edison Dye Lifetime Achievement Award and the Early Years of Motocross Museum.

Darian Sanayei is one of only a handful of American racers with MXGP experience. He went 4-4 in the Pasha 125 Pro class.

Pete Murray (7) was bummed to be beaten by Kurt Nicoll again in the Pash Over-50 125 Pro class, but the check for $1000 for 2nd place smoothed out his hurt.

Aryton Ward (797), Patrick Evans (71) and Bryce Huffman battle over 7th place in the 125 Pro race. Huffman took the spot, with Ward 9th and Evans 11th.

Casey Casper’s Honda CR125 got lots of admiring looks in the pits, but not everyone noticed that it was a KTM 125SX with a Honda front fender and graphics.

Pasha Ashar avoided the embarassment of having to hand himself a check on the podium by missing the purse paying positions. He also took Debbi’s advice to quit dressing in all-black if he wanted her to shoot photos of him at the races. Lots of photos of riders with black gear and black helmets are rejected for being too dark. Pasha took her advice and Debbi shot this photo of Pasha on his way to 12th in the Pasha Over-50 125 Pro class.

Jason Anderson (21) has now won five Supercross events in 2022. Brian would move to J&B Honda and eventually move to Yamaha where he had his own hop-up company called Myerscough Machines (it was run by Ted Moorewood, who was the father of Lance Moorewood and was the head of the NMA). When Brian moved out of the minicycle class, he got factory ride with Suzuki.
