A digital artist has given us a glimpse of what this pickup would have looked like and has added some 1960s Ford F-100 influence to his creation.

The digital car rendering world is a truly brilliant place. It is full of highly talented artists who can create some wonderful pieces of art. All of which never requires them to actually touch a real car, so their imaginations can run riot.

One of the best digital car renderers is jlord8. He has produced some great pieces of work, and this one is no exception. It takes the classic Lincoln Continental, and reimagines it as if Lincoln had created a pickup truck version of the car.

Jlord8 has said that they’ve taken the design language for this pickup truck from the 1963 Continental. And it is easy to see that in the rendering. For example, we have the grille design, which is the big feature taken from the 1963 Continental. The grille features the four headlights, two rounded ones on each side, with the indicator lights below them but in a slightly different position compared to the real continental.

The rest of the pickup oozes of classic 1960s styling. There is plenty of chrome at the front of the pickup truck, with the bumper and surrounds of the grille all decked out in chrome. The wheel caps and rims look like they are chrome too, as do the wing mirrors we see on the truck. The design though does then slowly start to deviate from Lincoln, and perhaps more towards something like a classic 1960s Ford F-100.

This is noticeable around the cab area, with that looking like it is from an F-100 of the late 1960s. The hood, as well, looks like it is from an F-100 with the gradual rise to a bulge in the middle although the positioning of the wing mirrors isn’t Ford — that is very much a Continental style of wing mirror positioning. It is hard to tell where the pickup bed inspiration comes from, but it looks like there’s plenty of space in the back for lots of cargo. It's cool to see a creation like this and to speculate on what a classic Continental pickup truck might have looked liked.
