DAF's new generation of long-distance transport trucks won the title of "2022 International Trucks". "XF, XG and XG⁺ have set new industry standards in terms of efficiency, safety and driving comfort," the jury said after a series of extensive tests. The award was presented at the Solutrans Truck and Transport Exhibition in Lyon, France. DAF also won the "2022 Truck Innovation Award" for its XF innovative truck equipped with a hydrogen internal combustion engine.

According to the International Truck of the Year (IToY) rules, the annual award is given to the truck that has been launched in the past year and has made the most significant contribution to the efficiency of road transportation. This judgment relies on a series of comprehensive criteria, including technological innovation, comfort, safety, driving performance, fuel economy, environmental "footprint" and total cost of ownership (TCO).

"DAF is the first truck manufacturer to launch a new generation of trucks, and its development took into account the new European regulations for truck quality and size," said Gianenrico Griffini, chairman of the "International Truck of the Year" jury. "The result is a series of very attractive and very aerodynamic trucks with top-notch efficiency, safety and driver comfort. The new XF, XG and XG⁺ provide excellent direct visibility and are shielded by large curved winds. Glass, low-waist side windows and curb viewing windows provide. These functions—along with a digital vision system that replaces traditional side-view mirrors and a new corner-view camera—provide a full range of vision and protect vulnerable road users.”

The new DAF XF, XG and XG+ are awarded the title of "2022 International Truck" for their first-class efficiency, safety and driving comfort.

The prestigious "2022 International Truck Award" was awarded to Harry Wolters, President of DAF Trucks, who is dedicated to commending more than 12,000 DAF employees worldwide. "This unique achievement is a real team effort! The new generation of XF, XG and XG⁺ represents the largest innovation project in our company’s 90-year history. This is a thorough listening to the opinions of our customers and their drivers. The future of continuous transportation solutions has a clear vision and always redoubles efforts to provide the best results of transportation solutions. In fact, we are the first truck manufacturer to take full advantage of the new European regulations on truck quality and size, for us Of customers provide unique benefits. It’s good to be the first person — it’s better to be a unique person.”

Gianenrico Griffini, chairman of the IToY jury, commented when summarizing the jury’s vote: “With the introduction of a new generation of trucks, DAF provides a high-tech, heavy-duty vehicle series that sets a new benchmark for the industry. In addition, it faces the future because It also represents a complete and very energy-efficient platform for a new generation of alternative energy carriers and transmission systems."

A good example is the new XF with hydrogen internal combustion engine technology being developed by DAF, which impressed the International Truck Jury of the Year in a demonstration in October. Therefore, the DAF XF H₂ innovative truck won the "2022 Truck Innovation Award".

Ron Borsboom, Executive Director of Product Development at DAF, commented: "This particular award highlights our philosophy that we need to explore the full range of technologies on the road to decarbonization of transportation and travel in the next ten years." "Hydrogen technology may become very interesting in the future. The choice is second only to the battery-electric solutions we have provided today and the hybrid trucks we are developing. Winning the "2022 Truck Innovation Award" also shows that the new generation of carbon-neutral fuels, the upcoming internal combustion engine (ICE), is still bright The future. It’s important to understand that stopping the use of fossil fuels will never automatically lead to a ban on internal combustion engines, especially in the field of heavy long-distance transportation."

DAF's new XF hydrogen energy innovation truck won the "2022 Truck Innovation Award". The ITOY jury appreciated DAF's innovative approach to alternative drive systems.

Ron Borsboom added: "H2-ICE means that existing gas station distribution networks can be used in many regions. Let us pay more attention to the fact that we have extensive knowledge and manufacturing footprint in this technology in Europe."
