A Bedford man was killed in a motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon on Route 56, Quaker Valley Road.

Chadwick T. Ewald, 46, was traveling east on a 2019 Harley-Davidson Sportster about 3:08 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left hand curve just west of the intersection with Leydig Lane in East Saint Clair Township, Bedford County, according to a state police report.

The motorcycle went off the side of the road, struck a highway reflector and continued down the embankment. Ewald was thrown from the cycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, police reported.
