Members of the Becky Drees Memorial Foundation recently stopped by the Regional Medical Center (RMC) OB Department to present the gift of tummy time mirrors.

These mirrors will be given to every baby born at RMC to promote gross motor skills and motor development.

The Becky Drees Memorial Foundation was formed in memory of Rebecca “Becky” Drees who passed away in 2010 at the age of 22 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. “Becky was a very giving person and always quick to offer help and support to anyone who needed it,” shared Nancy Drees, Becky’s mother. Nancy is a retired occupational therapist who worked with babies and families in their home. Through her experience, she realized the importance of tummy time mirrors and the lasting influence they have on babies and their development.

“We are so honored and blessed to have received these tummy time mirrors to provide to the families of the newborns delivered here at RMC. It was truly touching to hear the stories of Becky Drees and knowing through these mirrors her memory may live on,” shared Angie Strum, RMC OB Manager.

These tummy time mirrors were provided with educational materials graciously donated by Keystone Area Education Agency. RMC thanks the Becky Drees Memorial Foundation for this donation and commemorating the spirit and giving nature of Becky.
